Story
The Proton Referral Network was developed in dedication to our mission of providing access to proton therapy for patients around the globe. By utilizing our relationships with existing treatment centers throughout the United States and Europe, PRN is able to provide health systems in other countries the ability to have their patients treated at highly respected and established facilities in the US or abroad. Whether a health system, University or government is considering developing a center of their own in the future or do not have the funding or volume to justify building a facility locally, PRN offers them the ability to become the access point to proton therapy in their respective markets.
Through our Virtual Proton Center (VPC) concept, these entities are able to offer their patients the most cutting-edge cancer treatment available while educating their physicians on all aspects of particle therapy. Our referring partners in the network not only receive the best pricing available for international patients but are also able to take part in the treatment planning and in some cases even provide their oncologists with on-site training at one of our network proton centers. Aside from offering the optimal care available for their patients, the VPC concept also allows our partners to develop their in-country referral pathways and prepare their physicians to someday operate their own centers.
Since its inception, the Proton Referral Network has brought hundreds of international patients to be treated in the United States and Europe. The staff of PRN pioneered this concept by establishing the NHS network at the Procure Center in Oklahoma City and continues to expand its reach around the world. In the last few years, the Proton Referral Network has established patient pathways in Turkey, Eastern Europe, Africa, Canada, Latin / South America and opened a dedicated referral office in Hangzhou, China. The benefit to our partner treatment centers is that they immediately have access to patients outside of their traditional catchment area and once they partner with our Proton Referral Network, they have access to on-site training for their local oncologists. This can be in the form of a conference in their home country or a dedicated shadowing program for individual physicians over the course of two weeks. Ultimately, our referring partners can rely on the experience of PRN to ensure that all patients are pre-screened and the payment is guaranteed. Where others deliver promises, we deliver patients.
